Eating Disorders & Body Image

I have a particular interest and experience in supporting individuals experiencing difficulty with food and eating and body image concerns, from both psychological and psychoanalytic perspectives. This includes working with the practical challenges and effects, as well as unconscious patterns, that sustain disordered eating.

A Dual Perspective

Eating disorders and body image concerns are complex, involving both conscious and unconscious dimensions. I use my training in Focal Psychodynamic Therapy alongside evidence-based psychological approaches to address the full breadth of these experiences — from practical behavioural patterns to the deeper relational and emotional dynamics at play.

Understanding Recurring Patterns

Many people experiencing eating and body image difficulties find that patterns seem to resurface despite efforts to change. My approach aims to illuminate these recurring cycles — understanding not just what you do, but why — so that together we can address the underlying forces that maintain them.

Individualised Treatment

No two experiences of disordered eating are the same. I aim to understand your specific relationship with food, your body, and yourself, developing a treatment approach that addresses your unique concerns. The therapeutic relationship itself becomes an important space for working through these difficulties.
